Day 1 Santiago de Chile
Reception in Santiago Airport and tranfer to the Hotel Atton las Condes.
The Hotel is located in a residential sector of the city, in Las Condes. The hotel is near to the main shopping malls, and it has easy access to the main routes to the center of the city as well at the airport. What we can find near to the hotel is, the Mall Apumanque, the Escuela Militar and the subway stop of the Escuela Militar.
The tour begins at Santa Lucía Hill; it was here that Santiago was founded. Afterwards, Plaza de Armas, where are some historical buildings such as City hall of Santiago, National Historical Museum, Central Post Office and the Cathedral. The trip continues towards Cerro San Cristobal from where is a panoramic of the city. After traveling for the main roads of Santiago and the cities of Providencia and Vitacura, the trip ends with the visit to a handicraft shop, specialized in lapis lazuli jewelry, stone found only in Chile and Afghanistan. Return to the hotel in Santiago

Day 2 Santiago de Chile
After breakfast at the hotel, departure from Santiago towards the South, arriving to Pirque where Concha y Toro Winery, the biggest wine society in Chile, is located. Tour around the Patronal House with a beautiful park and its lagoon.
Access to the vineyards, from which these renowned wines are made. Visit to the wine cellars, including Casillero del Diablo, observing the whole storage process. Finally access to the Wine Shop.
The tour continues by the side of Maipo River, through the residential area of Las Vertientes, a lovely sight of countryside houses, camping, restaurants, and cottages.
Return to the hotel in Santiago. |
Day 3 Santiago de Chile
Begin the tour today by travelling up the coast to Valparaíso, one of Chile's most important seaports and an increasingly vital cultural center. Although Santiago is Chile's official capital, Valparaiso houses the National Congress. Built upon dozens of steep hillsides overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Valparaíso boasts a labyrinth of streets and cobblestone alleyways, embodying a rich architectural and cultural legacy. It is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is often considered to be one of Latin America's most intriguing urban areas.
After a short stop for Lunch (not included) we continue to Viña del Mar.
Viña del Mar, is the town Chileans refer to as Ciudad Jardín (Garden City) due to its parks, flower beds and gardens. The city was founded in 1874, by the engineer Jose Francisco Vergara Echevers, and has grown into Chile's most luxurious beach resort town, attracting visitors from all over the world.
Visitors come for Vina Del Mar 's languid tropical atmosphere, its grand tree lined streets, its vast, soft stretches of white sand beach, and to savour the cuisine in the abundance of gourmet restaurants.
Finally we will see the Vergara Pier which was inaugurated in 1938. It was first used in the loading and unloading of coal; later, it came into the possession of the now defunct sugar refinery 'Crav'. Next to the pier we will find the beaches of 'Acapulco' to the south, and 'El Sol' (the sun) to the north. Driving past the vast Botanical Gardens we travel back to Santiago via Renaca.

Day 4 Santiago de Chile
Transfer to the Santiago Airport to flight to Calama.
Reception in Calama`s airport and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama. It is possible to see Cordillera de la Sal and Licancabur Volcano during the trip. Arrival to San Pedro de Atacama. During the afternoon, excursion to Valle de la Muerte and Valle de la Luna, famous around the world for the rocky formation known as Three Marys, salt caves and the great dune from where it is possible to see an spectacular sunset. Return to hotel in San Pedro. Overnight. |
Day 5 San Pedro de Atacama, Chile
Departure to Tulor, ancient Atacamenian settlement with more than 2.000 years old. Visit to Pukará de Quitor, important fortress of XII century. During the afternoon, visit to Cejar Lagoon, with borders of crystallized salt and turquoise waters. Flamingos and taguas` home. The density of water allows floating easily.
Return to San Pedro, overnight. |
Day 6 San Pedro de Atacama, Chile
Early excursion to Puritama Hot Springs, located in a gully, 30 km from San Pedro. It is full of hot water deep pools (30º approx.). During afternoon, surrounding of San Pedro, an expert will give a brief astronomic speech, to observe moon craters, Saturn rings, groups of stars and other cosmic marvels. Return to San Pedro. Overnight. |
Day 7 San Pedro de Atacama, Chile
Half day excursion today we visit to Toconao village with its interesting liparita stone constructions, and then to Salar de Atacama where is Flamingos National Reserve, where are three species of flamingos. The trip continues to the altiplanic lagoons of Miscanti and Miñiques, located 4.000 m.a.s.l). Return to hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. Overnight.

Day 8 San Pedro de Atacama, Chile
Early departure to Tatio Geysers, seeing this spectacular demonstration of volcanic activity. Visit to Machuca and return to San Pedro for lunch. The trip continue to Pukará de Lasana, witness of Atacamenian culture; visiting Chiu Chiu, with its imposing historic inheritances, including one of the older and beautifulness churches of Chile. Arrival to Calama in the afternoon. Transfer to airport for the departure flight |
