Upon arrival at Auckland Airport, you will pick up your rental vehicle and drive to your central city accommodation. This day is free for you to unpack, relax, and explore the city area. Places to visit: Viaduct Basin. This vibrant waterfront precinct was developed to provide a focus for America's Cup Yacht Race. This is also a great place for night-time entertainment with its many cafes and bars.

Day 3 - Hawkes Bay/Napier
Take the drive to the east coast through Taupo approximately 3.5 hours. Hawkes Bay is fast gaining prominence as a region producing premium wines. The Hawkes Bay has a great selection of vineyards within a few minutes of each other. Accommodation: Central Napier accommodation. |

Day 5 - Waiarapa
Take the drive south to the Waiarapa approximately 4 hours. Essentially rural with off-the beaten-track charm, Wairarapa promises a diverse experience for those who appreciate great wine, gourmet food, astonishing wildlife and natural beauty. Rolling vineyards, acres of apple orchards, fields of lavender, olive groves, heritage museums and quaint historic towns combine to make Wairarapa an appealing destination.

Day 6 - Waiarapa
Have the day to explore the vineyards. Hire a bike to have a bit of fun, the vineyards are a stone through away from the city centre.

Take the drive south once again to the capital city of New Zealand, Wellington. This is approximately a 3 hour drive.
Wellington is a great place to enjoy a great meal and some of the great restaurants that Wellington has to offer.

Day 8 - Wellington
Accommodation: Central Wellington
Visit Te Papa (New Zealand's famous museum) this will take most of the day and is a lively and exciting museum, for adults and children alike. Main entry is free of charge; specialty exhibitions may incur a fee. |
Take the trip on the Interisland Ferry from Wellington to Picton. Once in Picton take the short trip south to Blenheim. Situated in the largest and best-known New Zealand wine region.
