This is a perfect package for those who like to take their own time to discover the beauty of Costa Rica.  It is a self-drive package that allows you to decide the "when", "where" and "how long" every place will be explored.

Custom-designing your own itinerary is not the only advantage that Flexi-Program offers, you also receive better rates than if you were to book the hotels, rental car or shuttle transfer company directly and in advance. The Flexi-Program rates are lower than the rack or walk-in rates.

This is how it works!

On your arrival day a representative will meet you at the airport and provide transfer to your hotel in San Jose which is already prebooked.

The next morning a Daihatsu Terios 4x4 or similar is delivered to your hotel by the rental company.  You will also have a briefing meeting at your hotel with an experienced English-speaking guide who will provide your accommodation vouchers, answer any questions you have about driving in Costa Rica, discuss your travel plans, etc.

Then you are off to explore on your own!  You go as you please, choosing hotels and lodges from the category you selected.  There are over 136 hotels in the three categories covering almost the whole country.  You can stay as many nights as you like in each hotel.  The only condition is that you book as you go, no sooner than the morning of the day you go.  When calling or checking in, you must identify yourself as a client with the Flexi Drive Program.

In each main area there is a choice of hotels and lodges, so if one hotel is full there is a very good chance that another will have space.  If within the main area where you want to stay no hotels in your category have space just call the local tour representative who will assist you in finding you an alternative in that same area or near that area. 

At the end of your trip, simply drop the car at the rental company's office at the airport.

Our Flexi-Program was designed to fit all budgets.  Simply choose one of the following three categories that fits your budgetary needs:

Category of  Economy (A)  Choice of 46 hotels.
Category of  Favorites (A & B)  Choice of 114 hotels to choose from.  
Category of Superior (A+B+C) Choice of 136 hotels to choose from.

Basic Itinerary:

Day 2  San Jose – Flexi Drive.
Briefing at the Hotel and discussion of the best route and choices of hotels.

A Daihatsu Terios 4x4 or similar will be delivered at the hotel and then you are off  to explore Costa Rica on your own.

Overnight at hotel of your choice. 

Day 8 Departure
Drive to the International Airport; drop off car and departure flight.

• 6 Nts / 9 nts or /13 nts Lodging in any of the hotel included in the list of your category(without  previous reservation)

• The net price per person for a third person in a triple room is USD24 per night.
• Rates are per person for a minimum of 2 passengers travelling together.
• The arrival transfer, first night in San Jose and the car will be reserved.  These arrangements will be made under the client’s name.
• This program is only valid without previous reservation of the hotels (except the first night in San Jose).  Clients may call the hotel ahead of time and ask for availability, but the hotels reserve the right to accept or deny any reservation based on availability.  For security client has to identify him/herself as a member of the Flexi-Drive program in order to ask for availability.
• Clients will have one coupon or voucher per night.
• If clients use all coupons or vouchers and wishes to extend his/her stay, the hotel and car rental will charge the current season rate.  (Rack rate)   The above mentioned rate for the additional night (coupon) is only valid if the clients purchased the basic 7 nights program and requests the additional services ahead of time.
• The LDW-Insurance has a deductible of USD 750 (USD 1000)  for accident with the possibility of being excluded against an additional insurance of USD 17,00  daily, and USD   750 (2000) for robbery and total damage excluded for USD 5,00 additional per day. Clients can also pay an additional insurance of USD 3.00 daily (PAI = Personal Accident Insurance). There is also a “license plate fee” of USD 0.99 daily, which has to be paid on spot.
• The additional driver has a cost of USD 5.00 daily.
• The general conditions for car rentals are: Min. rent of 3 days, Min. age 21 Years, valid driver’s license and passport (original no copy), Credit card as guarantee, which covers the amount of  the deductible. (VISA, Master Card, American Express, Diner’s Club)
