This itinerary gives you a taste of Australia in a short amount of time. See Sydney, snorkel / dive the Great Barrier Reef and then on to Brisbane and the Australia Zoo

Day 1 – Depart the U.S. on an overnight flight to Sydney Australia. You lose one day crossing the International Date Line but don't worry you make it up on your return flight home.


Once you depart, you will be served dinner. In the meantime have a drink (free), watch a movie and rest up for your exciting journey. Breakfast will be served just before landing. Please allow 3 hours between arrival of your US domestic flight and departure of your International flight.

Day 2 - 3 Arrive Sydney You will be transferred from Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport to your hotel by coach. As Australia's largest city, Sydney embraces its harbour, taking the sea and natural waterways to its heart. The grand style of the Sydney Opera House has made the city the landmark of the South Pacific. Sydney, with some 4 million people is the oldest, biggest, and liveliest city in Australia. Sydney's facilities for sightseeing and holiday activities are unequalled by any other Australian city. It is a paradise for surfers, swimmers, yachtsmen, fishermen, and golfers. Full of history and great nightlife, the choice of things to do in Sydney is endless.

There are so many optional tour choices such as the Sydney Opera House Tour, or for a great experience Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge!

 

Journeys Recomendation - Sydney Explorer Bus
The Sydney Explorer is a Hop On, Hop Off, sightseeing bus that takes in 27 key
landmarks of the inner city (Opera House, Darling Harbour) and eastern beaches
(Coogee and Bondi).


This unique city tour through Sydney departs from Circular Quay every 20 minutes
starting at 8:40am, with the last round-trip service departing at 5:20pm. You can get on or
off at any of the stops on the route. After traveling through some of Sydney's most
exclusive residential areas, the tours take in some of Sydney's most spectacular
coastlines and beaches. The bus travels every day along a 30km route and makes
numerous stops. The bus trip takes 2 hours to complete the whole journey (with no
stops). Buy your tickets onboard ($39 AUD for Adult ticket). Use your ticket stub to get

Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb is a don't miss!


The Discovery Climb is a 3 ! hour Climb experience that journeys to the top along the inner arch of the Bridge. In groups of up to 14 Climbers, you will be able to touch the raw steel and rivets and experience this amazing iconic structure up close. You will wind above the harbour on catwalks, scale the steel heart of this structural masterpiece and emerge to a unique summit experience via a mammoth staircase between the two arches of the Bridge. Along the way, one of BridgeClimb's professional Climb Leaders will share the Bridge's rich history, leaving you in awe of this incredible feat of engineering. The summit is 134 metres above the water, where you will be rewarded with amazing panoramic views of this amazing Harbour city.

 

Afraid of Heights? Try the Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylon Lookout, overlooking the World Heritage listed Sydney Opera House, 87 metres above the Harbour. On the way up you will pass three levels of historic displays, focusing on the vision of chief engineer JJC Bradfield, the dangerous work of building the Bridge and the controversy of the opening ceremony that was hijacked by Captain Francis de Groot of the New Guard. The massive 10-year labour of the Bridge workers is commemorated with two stained-glass memorial windows.


To visit the Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylon Lookout, go up the Bridge Stairs just south of BridgeClimb's Climb Base then walk North along the Bridge's pedestrian footway. The Pylon Lookout is open 10am to 5pm daily. Admission is minimal.


With incredible views of Sydney Opera House, it's a great place to visit and take potos..

Day 5 – Today you are off to Cairns.


You will be transferred your hotel to the Airport by coach. You will fly from Sydney to Cairns and upon arriving in Cairns you will be transferred to your hotel via coach.


Cairns is the heart of the Tropical North and is your gateway to some of the best scenery in Australia. Founded in1876 as the port for inland gold fields, Cairns has matured from a flighty frontier town to a friendly international gateway and has become the most welcoming of all Queensland cities. The Cairns region is internationally recognized for world class attractions, superb natural features and friendly north Queensland hospitality. The city is a delightful blend of colonial architecture, ranging from grand public and commercial buildings to wooden houses builtin the distinctive north Queensland style. Cairns is the focal point for the magnificent Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and is surrounded by World Heritage listed rainforests. To the west are the lush Atherton Tablelands and the outback plains and gorges of the gulf savannah. Tonight you may wish to explore the Cairns nightlife.

Sydney-BayDay 6 – Great Barrier Reef Cruise

 

Today you will experience the Great Barrier Reef via Michaelmas Cay.

 

Michaelmas Cay is a picturesque reef sand island surrounded by magical coral gardens teeming with an incredible diversity of marine life. The Cay is a protected seabird sanctuary playing host to over 20,000 migratory seabirds ... one of the most important nesting sights in the Southern Hemisphere.

 

Set Sail aboard our five star catamaran and enjoy a reef experience - a day to remember.

Four full hours on the reef, air conditioned coach transfers from your hotel (city & Cairns

Day 7 – Take the day to explore the area.Sydney Bay


There are many activities in the Cairns area and you may choose the activities that suit you best.


Maybe take an optional tour to Kuranda Rainforest. The picturesque mountain retreat of Kuranda Village
is just 25km northwest of Cairns in Far North Queensland, Australia and is surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest. Visitors can travel to Kuranda on Kuranda's Historic Scenic Railway or over the rainforest on Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.


Take the time to visit some of Kuranda's many first class nature based tourist attractions, which include koalas, butterflies, native and exotic birds, kangaroos and reptiles. Don't miss the famous Barron Falls, which are breathtaking. You can also see traditional Aboriginal dancers perform, travel on a riverboat on the mighty Barron River or join an Army Duck ride through the rainforest.


Sydney BoatJourneys Recommendation - The Esplanade is a fantastic location for many different activities and is
suitable for all ages to swim in the beautiful lagoon, laze on the lush grasses, run on the scenic boardwalk
or relax and listen to the live entertainment. Set on the Cairns foreshore overlooking the Barrier Reef and Trinity Inlet, the 4800 sq metre saltwater swimming lagoon offers locals and tourists a year round safe swimming location. On the other side of the Lagoon, visitors can lounge on the timber decks in moderate shade. Shady trees, landscaped gardens and open spaces all contribute to the leisurely atmosphere on the Esplanade


The Esplanade Markets showcase local, quality stalls selling contemporary jewellery, woodcraft, pottery, locally made handcrafted goods, clothes, skincare and so much more.

 

Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm, City Place in the Cairns CBD plays host to a selection of market stalls.


Every Saturday, between 8.00am – 4.00pm, the Cairns Esplanade showcases local, quality stalls selling contemporary jewellery, woodcraft, leather work, pottery, airbrush tattoos, clothes, skincare, much needed relaxing massage stalls, and so much more.

Day 8 – This morning you will fly to Brisbane
Thais morning you will fly to Brisabne and upon your arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.


Brisbane is Australia's largest city in the sub-tropics, enjoying an enviable climate of hot, brilliant summers and clear, mild winters that make it the ideal destination for visitors all year round. While Brisbane has all the facilities of a modern city it retains a friendly, easier pace of life, surrounded by parks, gardens and beaches. You will have the afternoon free to explore Brisbane on your own.

Day 9 –Australia Zoo Tour
This morning you will be picked up from your hotel. Your Australia Zoo adventure will
depart at 08:45AM.
The Sunshine Coast, home of the Crocodile Hunter and Australia Zoo, has been a
popular holiday playground for Australians and visitors alike. This tour goes directly to
and from Australia Zoo, made famous by the antics of Steve and Terri Irwin and their
global documentaries and now, a living legacy to Steve. You will have time to experience
the best of Australia Zoo. This wildlife "theme park" is too good to rush. Spend almost 6
hours seeing the many shows
and demonstrations, including crocodile feeding and snake handling. The handlers even
walk some animals through the park so you can get "up close and personal". The Zoo
has a team over 500 who believe in "conservation through exciting education", and will
ensure you have a wildlife experience you'll never forget. View the majestic Glasshouse
Mountains bordered by pineapple farms and pine forests, as you travel along the Steve
Irwin Way scenic route.
Tour ends at 05:30PM Tour length 8.75 Hours.

Day 10 – Your flight back to the US You will be transferred from your hotel to the airport by coach. You will have an afternoon departure from Brisbane. You will be served dinner and be able to watch movies on your journey home Remeber you will be traveling back across the International Date line so you will gain back the day that you lost. You actually arrive in home on the same day you leave.
Please allow 3 hours between arrival of your International flight before departure of your US domestic flight.
