Experience the beauty of the east coast from Sydney to Cairns on this 13 day tour. Relax on the idyllic islands of Fraser Island, Hamilton Island and Dunk Island along with exploring the Great Barrier Island

Day 1 Thur. Sydney, Coffs Harbour, Welcome Dinner and Drinks
Depart Sydney and set off on your coach journey, bound north to the subtropical resort town of Coffs Harbour. On arrival here, check in to your resort, before tonight’s Welcome Dinner and Drinks, which provides you the opportunity to get to know your Tour Director, Driver and travelling companions.

Day 2 Fri. Byron Bay, Brisbane
Today after breakfast, travel north to Byron Bay, a town famous for its bohemian lifestyle, unspoilt beaches and picturesque coastal scenery. After stopping here and enjoying time to explore, rejoin the coach and continue towards the Queensland capital, Brisbane. On arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure to relax.

Day 3 Sat. Brisbane, Fraser Island
Visit Australia Zoo, home to over a thousand native and exotic animals and the amazingly adventurous Irwin family. Then continue north to the Sunshine Coast, famous for its golden beaches fringed with native bush. Arrive in Hervey Bay and cruise to magnificent World Heritage-listed Fraser Island.

Day 4 Sun. Fraser Island, Freedom of Choice Touring, Bush Tucker Talk and BBQ
This morning after breakfast, select your touring activity from our Freedom of Choice Touring options. You might like to join a delightful whale watching cruise (Aug.-Oct.). Alternatively, embark on an adventurous and enthralling full-day 4WD Beach and Lakes tour around the beaches and subtropical rainforest of this pristine island. After your selected activity, join a park ranger for an exclusive Bush Tucker Talk, before a delicious BBQ dinner this evening.

Day 5 Mon. Rockhampton, Botanic Gardens
After breakfast, cruise back to the mainland this morning and reboard your coach. Cross the Tropic of Capricorn on your way to Rockhampton. On arrival in Rockhampton, explore the beautiful Botanic Gardens, which features excellent specimens of palms, cycads and ferns.

Day 6 Tue. Henderson Park, Mackay, Whitsunday Cruise to Hamilton Island

Visit Henderson Park, a cattle station operated by a local family since 1908. Afterwards, join a scenic cruise from Shute Harbour, near Airlie Beach, across to the largest inhabited island in the Whitsundays - beautiful Hamilton Island.

Day 7 Wed. Hamilton Island, Dine Around Dinner

Day 8 Thur. Whitsundays Cruise, Mission Beach, Dunk Island
Today you’ll cruise through the Whitsunday Passage back to the mainland. Re-board your coach and travel to Townsville, the centre for marine research of the Great Barrier Reef. Then, from Mission Beach, cruise to Dunk Island, another beautiful tropical rainforest island. Tonight, enjoy dinner and unwind - as the tour allows a comfortable two night stay on this idyllic island.

Day 9 Fri. At Leisure on Dunk Island
After a delicious breakfast, enjoy the entire day at leisure to relax at the resort or explore the nearby reef and rainforest. You could start the day with a rainforest walk and take in the spectacular views from the summit of Mt Kootaloo. Or perhaps you could discover the vibrant marine wonders of the Great Barrier Reef (own expense).

Day 10 Sat. Atherton Tablelands, Port Douglas, Dine Around Dinner
Explore the lush Atherton Tablelands with its rich volcanic soil, high rainfall and spectacular waterfalls. Step aboard a wildlife cruise at Lake Barrine, a lake formed by volcanic processes and surrounded by lush rainforest. Afterwards, enjoy a short walk to beautiful Millaa Millaa Falls and marvel at the unusual Curtain Fig Tree. Then travel to the resort town of Port Douglas. Tonight our Dine Around Dinner gives you the choice of dinner at a selected local restaurant or dining in at the Sabaya Resort.

Day 11 Sun. Quicksilver Barrier Reef Cruise, Freedom of Choice Touring
Once again today, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to choose from our Freedom of Choice Touring options. Perhaps take a cruise aboard the ‘Wavepiercer’ and snorkel on the reef. Or you may like to visit the Low Isles aboard the ‘Wavedancer’ and experience an unspoilt coral island. For those seeking a diving adventure, the ‘Silversonic’ offers a fabulous reef discovery. Afterwards, travel to Cairns.
Two Night Stay: Cairns, Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina

Day 12 Mon. Cairns, Kuranda
Journey aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway up to Rain forest station where you will see a performance by the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers. Later traverse the Kuranda Skyrail, and glide just metres above the rainforest canopy, passing waterfalls as you journey down the range. This evening enjoy a special Farewell Dinner and Drinks with your crew and tour group.

Day 13 Tue. Cairns
Enjoy a leisurely morning to relax around the resort or explore the tropical parks and gardens of Cairns. This afternoon your tour concludes with a transfer to Cairns Airport.
